Sky Dan Appointed To CAI Board Member

As independent providers of aerial and satellite installations and repairs, it’s important for our customers to know we abide by the professional standards set out by the trade organisations we’re members of. And it’s because of this that PAS Group Head Engineer and Director, Dan, has been selected to be a Director of the CAI, one of the UK’s largest trade associations for the digital sector.

What is the CAI?

The Confederation of Aerial Industries (CAI) is the official association for audiovisual professionals and one of the key organisations to be involved with for anyone in the sector. Formed in 1978, the CAI establishes and raises standards by setting mandatory codes of practice and conduct that are met across the industry.

They also represent the digital sector at local, regional, and national levels by “promoting standards to Government, businesses, developers, private landlords, specifiers, local authorities, and housing associations”.

The CAI also supports its members by offering education and training programmes to develop key skills and knowledge while providing key benefits for the businesses of each member. If you’re involved in the installation or repair of audio and video for domestic homes and commercial enterprises, the CAI is one of the first organisations to join.

From member to board member

As members of the CAI for many years, we strive to reach and exceed any standards set by them and other organisations. But the PAS Group sets incredibly high standards for itself too, from employee training and customer service to the digital, audio, and visual installation and repair work we carry out for customers every day.

It’s thanks to all these standards and strong work ethic that’s resulted in an incredible reward for Head Engineer and PAS Group Director, Dan Turton, who’s been chosen to sit on the CAI Board of Directors.

Being asked to apply back in mid-2021, the process was a slow one. But the appointment was finally made official when Dan was voted in and appointed at the CAI AGM on November 25th. He joins two fellow newly-recruited members who make up the full Board of Directors: 7 from installation companies and transmission platform operators and 6 from manufacturers or distributors of signal reception equipment.

An exciting future

To be asked to apply – and be accepted – onto the board for such a prestigious industry organisation is really an honour. Not many are approached, so when you are, you know you’re doing something right. And naturally, Dan was prou to accept.

The CAI themselves were also quick to congratulate Dan and his fellow appointees on their success: “Congratulations to Piers (Alltrade Aerial and Satellite Ltd), Russell (Global Invacom Ltd) and Daniel on joining the CAI Board of Directors. Each gentleman brings a wealth of industry knowledge and experience to the Board and we’re excited for their future input.”
